Methods of Mathematical Statistics in Reconstruction of Historical Data on Economic Growth Factors of the Former USSR Republics

The lack of a complete set historical statistical data is one the main problems that does not allow econometric modelling and forecasting to be carried out in full. are characterized by numerous omissions, either singular or almost entire decades. task reconstructing them adequately therefore always relevant. purpose article demonstrate application mathematical statistics methods for reconstruction series economic indicators former Soviet republics, subdivided three groups: volume economy, its institutional environment general technological level. authors solved following tasks: 1) formed on Union republics USSR; 2) demonstrated possibility applying methods, especially regression analysis, statistics; 3) tested results determining which trends spatial differentiation prevailed late USSR: towards convergence divergence republics. Methods. Modelling was based national accounts, population labour force, human capital, science financing wage differentials knowledge workers industrial workers, homicide rate, infant mortality rate.
